Students must be the absolute center of our work. It's all too easy to get caught up in the bureaucracy and politics of public education, while students -- despite the best intentions -- get left behind. By reinvigorating and realigning our people and our systems toward every student achieving their very best, we ALL win.

Every single child has the potential to bloom. Regardless of socioeconomics, LGBTQ+ identities, immigration status, learning differences, or any other factor, our systems must flex to their needs and interests -- and prepare them for a rapidly evolving world where artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics and other technologies will further impact their careers and their lives.

Teachers are the engine in a school, and staff help make sure that engine runs smoothly. Traditional compensation packages -- strong salaries, health/dental, and pension benefits -- are essential to maintaining great employees; so are ongoing professional learning, a culture of appreciation, and exploring novel incentives as families navigate the Bay Area's excruciatingly high cost of living.

It's not easy running a district on inequitable funding, though we owe it to our kids and our community to do our very best -- and to seek help from our partner elected officials and organizations (CEF, PTOs, BGCC, ALAS and more!) to continuously improve our financial health through maximizing revenues while investing those resources wisely.
